2nd wk into June & slowing working on the pending works.

Updates as usual but less than before cos was busy, working on Nozomi bday & RWBY works + that 1 request thingy that was taking far long from edits & stuff(will ramble at the end)

Ohara Mari- 13/6/16

The day(13/6) haven't ended so here's the work did for her:

 

The idea stems from how Mari does horse-riding; did a small bonding scene of her with her horse(tho based on the description given of her horse before in the Q&A section of dengeki G's magazine, it's nt accurate-.-)

This is my 2nd time drawing a horse and it proves to be difficult for me as animal drawing isn't my style but I had fun working on it despite the numerous ref needed to do(^^;) The colouring nid more work...

Gt a certain luck of getting her despite buying not many Aqours stuff... She may be the 'Maki-luck'(Refer to this post under Maki bday section) for me in Aqours stuff...?

Still in the midst of working NozoEli manga(^^;) Thought out some ideas of expanding the work to link Tsubasa Vs Umi part with NozoEli part:) So far, 3 short manga r planned out; 2 sides of NozoEli + the return of...(Will reveal more when the time comes~)

There should be progress on this in the next update post- pls look forward to it^^

FAM 16

Short for Funan Anime Matsuri 2016- it's gng be the last one as Funan's going into renovation at end June(gng miss it & the event itself...It's 1 less anime event next yr...)

This event started on June 6 till June 12(just yesterday) I would say the event is more catered to cosplayers & cosplay fans as there r many guest cosplayers invited for meet-and-greet session. 

I'm nt a fan of cosplay so only went for the anime fair that only starts in the last 2 days of the events- much like the doujin mkt last mth in suntec &... Really short on $$$ but there was a great deal &...U know the story;

Ta da~ Gt influenced much & actually bought YohaRiko instead of my usual ChikaRiko(just sank the ship...) And the Umi was the last one so~

Oh and nt to forget, the horror house[6 exits] & the escape room based on assassination classroom

Pokemon cafe SG

Went last weekend with my family~ And I think I will summarise my trip with 2 collages:

Food ordered; mostly drinks~

Loots gotten~

The wait wasn't as horrible as the hello kitty; abt 1.5h?-But that's partly cos the hype kinda dies out after ard 2 weeks.

The food was decent; didn't order the main course cos the free mug wasn't available for taking & since it's from EWF, the truffle fries r nice:) 

And the parfait- the cotton candy was a bit tricky to eat; require 2 utensils to pull it out, haha^^; The pikachu cookie/cake inside was nice but the mango part at the end could be too sour to ppl's liking(to me, it's alright:) 

As for the drinks, Volt tackle drink(the one with a pikachu ice floating) is great for ppl with a sweet tooth~ Plus it comes with popping candies:) 

The one I drank was the Pikachu iced latte- heard from review, it's nt bad but if u r one who can't take bitterness, u wouldn't like it. I'm nt sure if there's sugar syrup there(u can try asking) but I was fine with the drink as it is. And the top pikachu part is actually whipped cream which actually if it was mixed with the latte, it wouldn't be too bitter but...No idea what kind of whipped cream is it, it was quite sticky and thick that the straw can't suck it up-.-(I gave up mixing it with the latte...) The ears of the pikachu can be taken... I think?- I mean I did eat, feel like biscuit but the taste wise...

Lastly, the blue drink was just normal soda pop with blueberry flavour(much like the blue mountain dew drink) but the catch is that u can bring back the bottle! Again, heard from review that it was originally $3 less in which u can't bring back the bottle but now, u can- it's a great souvenir from the cafe while the free mug's unavailable.

Overall, just like any char cafes in SG(lately there r many...) the prices r ex; just 1 visit is enough- maybe in the case of the Pokemon cafe which is only available until end July, ppl would wan to go while it's still here...?

Pretty much my eventful week- kept spending $$$ when I'm short of it-.- And then, there's the July event... This holiday is gonna be a bomb...

Rambling(ignore if dislike)

So the request thing... It's the same particular one I mentioned a few posts ago. I suppose I gt kinda flared-out by how much edits the person wanted and just asked the person to choose; the changes he asked r gonna be the last or I quit- it's take it or leave it. I know the cost of being this... Bad but if I don't, I'm gonna be the one suffering...

Initially, the requests r supposed to finish by May so that I hav more time for myself and I admit I couldn't finish them all by May, I was hoping to get it over with at the start of June but now, cutting into mid June, I'm still nt done with this single request... And still gt 1 more to do...

The whole 1st wk of June was like a dance, a never-ending one where I edit the draft according to the person's request and then ltr the person will pt out more stuff to edit...

Tbh, I was very tempted to just say I quit and nt do anymore but I did promise and even made the person waited. And so, I gave him 2 options of whether to continue or nt.

Requests r really nt my style unless it's something I don't mind doing- there was 1 time someone requested LL fanart; any fanart as long as it is LL! No fixed stuff or theme to do & that pretty much is what I am looking for!

But instead I gt OCs draw that while I don't dislike, I don't like either... But like I mentioned b4(I think in twitter), if I can do it, I will and not doing cos I dislike is a bad excuse...

And so, this is my last time opening a request box. Maybe consider doing if ppl request and I felt like it...I nid to learn to say "no"...

Ranting time(similar to the post on instagram):

Nozomi isn't my faves but I don't hate her(don't hate any of the member since they each has their flaws and good pts in them which LL anime, SID, etc show it out~)

When I first saw her in the anime and well... She has the mother figure and is quite 'knowledgeable'; she's seen as a wise person one would go for advice of(esp love...or maybe nt to spare the teasing...)
That was something I admire in her but couldn't relate b'cos I'm nt such person^^;
As such, I couldn't understand/relate to her much and esp her fave 'washi-washi'... But when LL Season 2 ep 8 came, man... I kinda understand where she's coming from now and she's quite strong to bear it all...I saw her in a new light I guess?

And so, HBD Nozomi!

Oh, also, it was for fun and since I made it in time... I decided to submit my entry to LL wikia Nozomi giveaway!

Kinda expected; didn't gt into top 6(satisfied by the top few this time~) but gt notable mention^^ Again, it was fun to get into the birthday spirit for the goddess! Kinda feel bad missing Hanayo & Maki-.-(Maki's was a miracle that I was able to do a coloured work for her; it was near my exams...)

[Updates] Gunpla Expo SG 16, LED cube

Time flies and it is June already; 2 more mths before sch starts again... Ahhh, just thinking of the end... Still gt much to do-.- Shall avert my eyes from the little time I've and enjoy while I can~

Gunpla Expo Sg 2016

Much like last yr's gundam docks with the exclusives here and there~ Here's the limited kits:

The only that caught my eye is the Gundam Wing EW Pearl Gloss Ver.(the 00 raiser as well but... I already one & it's RG too so... Also, nt sure y the price of normal RG gundam wing EW is of the same prize as the exclusive... Since I haven't built it b4...) And well~

Just gt that(likely to be in my backlog...) and a stand for my HG Barbatos(here's how it looks like:)

Should I go watch the anime?o.o

A head-up: there's a redeem card that can be gotten for every $30 spent which entitled the person a sticker, depending on the week of redemption. The sticker is of the 4 different coloured mini bearguy; 1st wk's red, 2nd wk's blue, 3rd wk's yellow and lastly, 4th wk's pink~ But before redeeming, there's a nid to collect the stamp- the locations r given on the card~ Have fun hunting!(it's quite simple; hint: to check the map for the location stated in each floor:)

It was a random request by my sis and well... Real person sketch is nt my strong pt(back in my middle sch...) but decided to try...

It's heavy in soldiering- if it was the yr 1 me, I would hav died, haha(all those practices until now help~) Faced problems here and there(had to de-soldier ard 10+ pins cos placed wrongly-.-) And was quite slow that I feel stressed at how ppl finish within 1 day... Only sad thing is how I didn't learn the programming well...(well it can be self-learned plus it's a bit like C programming which I had learned b4)

Think that's all then. Had been spending much- nid to cut down and nt sure if finding a temp job to earn some $$$... Tbh, I don't really wan to work but rest my body b4 sch starts again(I did put a lot of stress on my body last sem, both physically & mentally...)

And then, LL franchise's pumping in so much stuff... RIP $$$...(There's SIF... For the 1st Aqours event, felt the staff didn't put in a lot of efforts; both idolised & unidolised look plain...Tiering only b'cos 2 of my faves r inside...)

Oh and had been drawing so much that I wish I can play some RPG games but nt sure what to play-.-(Should I return to DragonNest... Bet I gt kicked out of the guild...)

Regrets accepting art requests...

I think I mentioned(briefly) that I regretted taking art requests and here(after finishing most requests, leaving 2 more), gng ramble a bit on that:

 

I decided to do this on a whim after seeing artists doing them; wanted to give a try but who would hav thought it wasn't as fun as I thought it will be... 

Initial idea of requests was for me to try different art done by other ppl, exposing myself more. 

However, in the progress of doing, I started to lose the interest... 

First, most requests were drawing of OCs- I was hoping for some anime chars...-.- Next, I realised I hate drawing based on a particular work unless I chose it(rarely nowadays since I hate copying/sketching other ppl works...) and this bad trait of mine just breaks the idea of accepting requests...Sigh... Lastly, the expectations of another... While working, I can't help think abt how the party would feel; feel rather pressurised...

To add on, my copic... This is gng sound ugly but still gng say it: Nt only I lose the motivation to work on the requests but also that the colouring done use much of my copic & replenishment nid $$$(currently a bit broke...) I was gonna just give shaded works but seeing all the OCs given in colour, I felt bad only shading the works... 

But most of all the regrets r directed to a particular request... Tbh, I don't mind trying to draw; it's an unknown area that I love to try yet at the same time b'cos it's unknown, there's a chance that the art will be bad... As such, when the person requested it, I was tempted nt to do(since a request means the person trusted your ability to do that art well) but the person said he will help so I decided to give a try...

I wouldn't say it's hard but as someone who has no experiences, I feel I ref so much that I'm literally just sketching out the person's art & replace the head with the character I wan to draw... As said, I hate copying work; during the whole process of working on it, I'm so tempted to drop the work badly...But a promise is a promise- I will see it to its end.

And then, when I showed the person the draft, a few mistakes r pointed out and I'm just like... It's getting even more suffocating, working on this request as this week was particular busy with LL char bdays coming soon + the deadline of a particular contest is near... I was so tempted to say, 'f this shit' but I can't; it violates my character and belief...

So I ended up telling the person to leave it to me than pointing out the mistakes cos it's already... Annoying that there r changes to be made when I gt other urgent stuff to do- I was gng to just outline and work on my own but the person did say he wants to see so...

I suppose the person came at the wrong time, asking abt it?-It's my fault for putting it away long but really... I was gng put off the last 2 requests until June 13 when I'll be more free than now...(lucky that I didn't get the job...?)    

Sigh... If I had known this how accepting requests feel, I wouldn't hav done it...(Still gt another request asking for idm- had no idea y the past me thinks it will be alright to take that request...Gng be tough doing... Hoping the person don't come asking- better don't jinx it...)  This is likely my first & last attempt at getting requests. I'm just nt suited for this; just content drawing what I like~ 

I suppose the gd thing is that I get to 'know' more ppl(or rather gain more watchers?) and just this yr, first time having ppl wishing me on my bday on DA~ It was both a shock and surprise after being on DA for at least 7 years, this is the first~

That's just me rambling after that heavy chat(last sat) I had with the person over the draft- kinda my first(having a discussion over my artwork) so I was surprised when the person wanted a chat... 

Was debating whether to blog abt it but glad I did; felt a little better after venting out~ 

Update in the next post(this was gonna be an update post but didn't expect the rambles to be this long^^;)

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

^How I feel right now as I looked at my results~ All modules passed!!! While the GPA wasn't as gd as last sem(tho there were some surprises like how I didn't expect that grade for that particular mod~), I'm just glad I passed!!!- The overall GPA only dropped a bit~

Really happy right now that the feel's so great & my heart really can't contain the excitement!!!XDD All those fear and nervousness(since the end of last paper) just flew off & replaced by relief~

With this, 1st hurtle overcame! Next is to plan the timetable which is a pain before the 2nd hurtle; the snatching registration of courses for next semester!- Went in late & ended with a non-ideal timetable in the last sem... Not gonna repeat the same mistake! Tho with the specialization in place, the slots should be spread out?

For now, shall enjoy a bit before getting into the planning of the timetable(gt many pending works & also those requests^^;)

In addition, I can finally enjoy the events-to-come in peace!!!
