Back-from-vacation Updates: New manga + Reviews to 2 awesome games!

Hi all. It's been a while and I'm back from my CNY vacation! The vacation had been a fruitful one with the visits to my relatives and everything. In addition, with me still awaiting my results for my next stage of education, this year's CNY is truly the time I could really enjoy myself without much worries!

Steamboat

 I understand that nowadays, people tend to use the electrical type of steamboat... One thing is that it is easier to set up than the charcoal type and the other is that it is easier to wash since usage of charcoal means washing the charcoal stains too... However, from what I believe in, I think charcoal type heat up food faster! Also sometimes, the traditional way of cooking food is still better than the advanced type! Okay, that was just some ramblings of mine...>_<

Moving on, over the vacation, I've been working on another project of mine.

Originally, it was supposed to be a short one-shot manga, consisting of around 10 pages long... However, as I drew while thinking of how to bring the story out... I somehow drew around 14 pages and the story has not even reached near the ending at all...Sigh... I can now see why storyboards are important... Name of manga not decided yet and for sure, the cover will be a coloured one so look forward to it!

Hence in a way, I may be putting Tales Project aside to finish this new manga project of mine; kinda put Tales Project on hold for a while.(Reassure the monthly update will still be on!)  This will take effect after I have finished TOD 2 drawings first! I'm left with only 2 characters before it is done!

Besides been busy with the manga project of mine, I've been hooked by two phone games recently. One of which is Brave Frontier.

This game is a RPG game where you, the player, is a chosen summoner to battle against the God, Maxwell. At the start, you can choose one character which is a summon of the 4 types of elements, fire, electricity, grass and water. There are another 2 more types, light and dark which you'll encounter in later parts of the game itself.

When you start out at first, you can advance the story or the quests until around the last stage of the boss. After that boss called Juggernaut, you may think you've cleared the game... If you do, think again! B'cos there's another map awaits you! And mind you, it's not going to be a brisk walk since the monsters are upgraded and the bosses aren't easy anymore.
IMPT NOTE: Energy is used to do quests. Each point of energy will be replenished per 10 minutes. As one levels up, energy level will sometimes increase but for sure replenished!

Players can acquire new units either through summoning or killing. For summoning, there are two types; rare summon and the honour summon. Rare summon guarantees 3 stars and above units while Honour summon ranges from 1 star to (I guess?) 3 stars. Rare summon requires a total of 5 gems to summon while Honour summon requires 200 honour points to summon. Gems can be bought using real money or gotten from arena rank up, events... While, honour points can be earned as gifts from friends and recruiting friends' or other players' units.

The game has other features such as Town, Arena and Vortex . For the Town, it is where you can harvest materials for synthesizing items that can boost your units or summons. it is also where you upgrade your harvest venues, using karma that can be collected in battle plus creates spheres for your units to carry to boost them!

Town

The Arena is a place for players to fight against each other. The rules are simple. No items usage. If you win, you earn points to get to the next rank and get the award assigned for each rank. If you lose, you lose points which set you further to the next rank. Lastly, one arena orb is used for each battle! Each player has a total of 3 arena orbs that will be refilled at certain a cool down period per orb. And before I forget, each win or loss will be recorded and shown on player profile during selection of opponents to battle against.

Last but not least, the Vortex. It is a place where event dungeons will be held at. Such dungeons will change everyday except for the weekends. Players can choose to take on these dungeons instead of the quests. These dungeons are placed to help players; like the Monday Dungeon in which players can harvest large amount of Karma; much more than in quest mode.

The tricky part about this game is the fusing of units... Units are not like players that will gain exp as they battle. Instead, they have to fuse with other units to earn exp. In other sense, units are 'sacrificed' as exp for other units to grow strong and evolve. Evolve can only happen when a unit has max level and the player has the necessary units as materials plus sufficient money. Evolving a unit will bring the unit to its next level, ensuring a stronger unit!

The other game is called Cytus. It is a musical based game. It has an interesting playing style and best part is that the songs are great!

From chapter 1, I would say Light Up My Love and Retrospective are the two songs I fell in love with!

Tales Project Monthly Update: Tales of Phantasia

Hi all. As promised, this will be the first monthly update of the Tales project!

[For all who don't know, Tales Project is a collection of drawings that I will be doing on the characters from the Tales series! The characters are mainly the good guys...(Sorry bad guys...>_<) This project is something I started 2 years ago to motivate myself to study but unfortunately it did not help, thus was stopped. Thinking it is a waste, I decided to continue it!]

The first update will be on the first series, Tales of Phantasia!

Can't say I have played this game but the characters certainly appeal to me! Considering that Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X is part of TOP, I also included the two main characters from that series!

All these are done 2 years back... I did not upload them, thinking I should upload all after I'm done with the project itself... However, there will be too many drawings by that time; uploading them at once will just require more than a day to finish... In addition, Tales series is a continual series; it will keep continuing, hence there will be no end until the series stop or take a break. In a way, this can be called a project that has no end? From my progress, I should be able to finish until Tales of Xillia in this year . And then I can take a break and await for the new series, Tales of Zestiria to develop!

Updates: One-shot mangas-The Price To Pay & The Guilt Within + Tales Project

Hi all! This week's post will be on some minor updates on the completed one-shot manga I did, The Price To Pay & The Guilt Within. 

This is the design notes I made for the warrior char in the DN one-shot manga, the guilt within.

The following will be the full set for the one-shot manga, the price to pay.

I made a coloured cover and added a design notes for the manga. I know this manga had been uploaded before but for those who missed it or do not know, you can now read them with the full version!

To tell the truth, I tend not to do design notes. However, in conjunction with an upcoming project I am planning to do, I think it should be done and with the cover as well! Must be wondering what project I am starting? It is nothing much but simply a book, compiled with all the one-shot manga I had done and will be doing! Though I feel so enthusiastic about it, the book is far from done... With just this two manga, I only have 10 pages at most... It can't even be made into a book yet... Sigh...

Currently, I am working on another one-shot manga which will be much longer than before though I am currently struck as to how I should start and end it...Sigh...

Moving on to updates on Tales Project. First series of drawings(From TOP) will be uploaded in the coming week, both on the blog and Deviantart!.Please look forward to it! Currently, I am at the forth series with about one-third done... This series should be done by the following week before I take a small break.

NOTE: There won't be any updates in the coming weekends due to CNY...

Making of Chinese New Year goodies, Pineapple Tarts

Hi all! As said, I was busy in the weekend. In actual fact, with regards to the coming festival, I was helping my aunts making CNY goodies, pineapple tarts! It was fun helping and best of all, I was glad I was of a help to them!
 
After spending almost the whole day (from 1000 to 2000), the pineapple tarts were finally done and packed! Look forward to eating them over the week and during the CNY!

Dragon Nest Second Job Advancement: Gladiator or Moonlord?

A while ago, I was a lvl 45 swordmaster who finally reached the stage of my next advancement. Like any player, I get excited from being able to upgrade my character! However, unlike maplestory where a character only needs to choose once in his job advancement, dragon nest allows player to choose from two jobs under the swordmaster's next advancement, Gladiator and Moonlord...

Before this, I chose to be a warrior since I liked close combat type of char! Then, at lvl 15, it was a choice between swordmaster and mercenary. As a sword-loving person, I chose swordmaster without even researching on either of the classes. With that, I trained as a swordmaster until this level, level 45 for my next advancement! Okay, now comes the hard past: which one to choose? OR rather, which one is the better one?

To say the truth, I had no answer to my questions. I just simply went and did the quests for my advancement and man, the quest of 'Defend against Velskud' was the hardest.- (I was at loss at first when he attacked and then when I attacked, it did nothing to him. It took all my 5 lives at once since I did not know that you just have to damage him a bit to succeed...) After that quest, it was the last stage of the advancement. At there, my char met Geraint who was supposed to be dead(Great to see him again though...) and I get to try out the skills of both Gladiator and Moonlord! It was nice of DN to let player try out the skills of the two jobs before making a choice. 

In the end, after much debate and thinking, this is my answer:

    

Not sure whether this is the right choice though I think there is no right or wrong choice; both classes are great in their own ways and also, this is a game meant for people to have fun. It wouldn't be too much of a fun if one being calculating of which job is better than the other... That's why though I feel a little sad that the class I choose was said as bad in the forum and the other was the better one, I won't regret my choice! I'm playing for the fun of Dragon Nest! 

Considering the fact that the level cap is at level 60, I think I will keep training this char of mine until that level before moving on to the other char I created, thinking I can transfer stuff from char to char like maplestory... My other char's name is DesFate, a Kali.-since she's the other close range user after warrior until assassin class comes in!
