[Updates] FREEDOM!!!

Today marked the end of my fyp; ending with the presentation~

I guess out of all presentations I had done so far, this was the most impromptu presentation I ever did- I only did one dry run, the day before^^;
Even so, I didn't follow as I rehearsed but simply presented based on my slides; after all, I do know what to say from my slides but there were awkward pauses and stuttering when I got struck in trying to present with the right terms to use, haha...

And also, there were disruptions cos the examiner of previous student was late and somewhat crashed into mine...
Maybe it was a blessing(?) that I didn't memorise any script or I would be struck in trying to continue my presentation after the disruptions...

All in all, when everything was done, I was relieved but the fact that it ended, didn't sink into my head until I reached home and realised... I am finally free!

These 4 years sure went off in a blink of an eye; now that I made it out of this journey, alive and well!
Tbh, as what I said in previous post, I really didn't think I would make it- In my second year and also in my fourth year semester 2(which is the current semester) where the projects were really hard and demanding that I actually broke down quite a few times...
However, I pressed on by telling myself, 'this is the last lap! I can do this!'

And so, with everything done(and hopefully, my results are alright in this semester), I'm looking forward to my convocation which I'm excited in wearing the graduation gown!!!- It's my first time wearing~
In addition, it will also be my parents' first time attending a graduation ceremony!- This was another motivation for me to persevere in this semester!
Can't wait for it~

Will be updating soon when I'm done with the mini Aqours manga series!(currently, still thinking of the cover for it...)

[Updates] Exams OVER!!!(But fyp hasn't, lol)

It's been a looooooooooooooong time~

Well, it's not called final semester for nothing; been busy with school, especially juggling my fyp with the other modules I had to take to clear off the AU requirements to graduate...

It was the toughest semester; with the projects been very demanding(and I, been a smart alec, took jap 5 when workload is high... My love for jap pushed me through but the results were depressing...)

That said, I'm glad everything was done and all except for one more presentation of my fyp to my examiner and my prof and that will wrap up my 4 years of University education~

Looking back, there were thoughts of giving up and thinking it was a mistake to take engineering during my second year due to the workload and the performance of my quizzes... But I'm really glad I persevered and made it to today!
And though I'm sort of a lone wolf, the friends I made over these 4 years, played a big part in my endeavour to the completion of my university education! I doubt I would have made it this far, if not for their help!

These 4 years may be hard but the days after are the real deal; to find a job...
I have not landed into one but I did go for a few interviews and they were all quite an experience~

Somehow, the more I go for interviews that are for software engineering jobs, the more I feel that... Maybe this area isn't my forte...
Compared to computer science or even computer engineering, my experience as a electrical engineering student can't really compete with them, especially in software side...
And nowadays, companies are looking for C/C++ or Java programmer...

I have used these languages before but b'cos my fyp was using python, I would say I have grown rusty in those languages...
Plus, I only learned the basic of those languages while companies are looking for advanced or even master of these languages...

Next, I tried for jobs in cybersecurity as I grew an interest due to my fyp.
However, apparently, my fyp project was more of a machine learning project than that of  cybersecurity...
And I admit that I am more interested in that area; area in artifical intelligence, especially for robotics... That said, it's also not easy to find such jobs as a fresh graduate cos this area requires experienced programmers instead...

Ok, that was just me rambling(after a long time, haha).

Moving on from my personal life, about my art projects...

I will be doing a cover for random doodles x LL series(not sure if mentioned before, lol) before I upload the series to pixiv which I dk when I will finish due to lack of inspiration...

Currently, I'm working on this small series- I mentioned briefly in my last post that I started it during Inktober 2017 and yes, I managed to finish it!(Here's the LINK)

I intend to make this series into a mini book; just like FateXLoveLive so I will upload once I can think of a cover and finish it(again I dk when- hopefully before my trip~) However, before that, I'm working on the character profiles- mainly for the different outfits they worn in the POV manga(plus I like designing their outfits~)

^They are done- just need some touch-ups before I send them for scanning(and likely to upload over next week on deviantart~)

And that is all from me- think I will post rather often; now that exams are over and I will get my freedom after Monday's presentation~

[Updates] School Started...

Decided to update my last post before things get busy^^;

So, school started last week which was just the lecture week.
The true start would be next week when there will be both lectures and tutorials- this is where things are gonna be busy and even more when assignments, reports, quizzes and presentations come in...
In addition, there is also my final year project that I am working on since last semester...

Even so, due to most of the compulsory modules cleared in my previous years, I actually have free days(\yay/)
However, that said, those free days could easily be occupied when needed to go school to work on my project(I'm hoping this is the last resort, considering the distance and time from my house to school-.- Singapore may be small but going from the north to east still takes a while, esp with how the train system is recently...Miss the old days...)

And so, a little update on my art projects:

Random LL Doodles

I have decided to stop the series b'cos of the loss of motivation + inspiration and uploaded the rest of the works done. They are all manga works to give more details to the characters; I have planned for all but only did for the 2nd years, NozoEli and PanaRin...

It is part of the reasons why I did not upload the works until now; I wanted to finish all before uploading but since I'm stopping this series...

I will upload to pixiv once I do a cover art for it!

FYI: At first, it was just to practise some postures I found online and maybe due to a spur of motivation, it developed into this series, thus the randomness; the role that each character take was depending on the posture that I drew.
In other words, posture was drawn first before fitting the role^^;
And despite that, I was able to expand, think and make one-shot manga of the characters' intereactions~
If not for the lack of motivation, I would have loved to at least draw one one-shot manga for all characters to show a bit of their interactions...

Next up would be a new au I started like last year's July(I know this is like irony of me; starting a new au when I has a currently-in-progress series, aka random LL doodles... This is just how my muse is; it comes and goes, esp when a work is prolonged for too long...)

Fate X Love Live 

This is a crossover between Fate series and Love Live or rather Love Live members in Fate Series au.

A little background: Fate series au is one where 7 humans* as Masters will summon one historical figures/legend, know as Servant each to particpate in a battle royale called Holy Grail war. The winner is said to be able to have any wish granted, by the Holy Grail(hence the name).       
*Normally, the master candidates are magicans since the servants require mana to stay and fight(with the exception of Caster Master)

This au is basically a battle royale with u's and aqours members as both Masters and Servants!
The Master-Servant pairs are thought of as ships that I shipped back in LLSS season 1; there are changes due to season 2 but not accounting that factor into this~

I have uploaded the works in pixiv; HERE and will be uploading onto Deviantart, each work a day for next week:)

What's next?

I may expand Fate x Love Live(but highly unlikely to...)

I'm thinking of uploading some of my inktober 2017 works onto deviantart which I said I want to but due to school, I forgot about it^^; And during that Inktober event, I actually started a random au. It was inspired a little from Athyra's Love Live x Harry Potter au(do give it a read:)
I may expand further~

Otherwise(of the above), I may just stick to random doodles~

Truth to be said, I'm not even sure if I have the time to draw so fingers crossed...

This is as much as I like to update(and I actually spent an hour blogging-.- RIP my studying time...)

Starting the new year with a bang(from release of result)

Happy New Year!

It's been a long while and to think I forgot to update before 2018 comes-.-

^Lately, things had been quite fast-paced that before I knew it, it's 2018^^;

Let's just say, my break after my exams wasn't like a break- I had work to do for my final year project that there were times I needed to go back school...

Also cos my exams ended much later as compared to previous years, the break feels slightly shorter...?(Although school's starting later as well; got another week of 'freedom'~)

That said, I enjoyed my break; doing some of my hobbies like drawing and gunpla building:) And going out and having fun with my family!

Where to start...? Tbh, I haven't been updating my blog cos I had no idea what to talk about; too many to touch on since my last post...

I guess I can start with my 2018 new year resolution? Well, I haven't really thought over it but since in a few more months I will be graduating, I suppose landing onto a 'nice' job will be the top priority.

'Nice' job will be one with:

• Good pay...
• Good work life balance(wouldn't want too many OTs but if it can't be helped then...)
• (If possible) travelling time to work place isn't too long(lately transport hasn't been reliable...)

However, I suppose the most important is working in a job that I like; preferably in software engineering...?- Not sure how it will be like but over the 4 years in uni, I grew to like programming a bit(tho it can be frustrating as well...)

While talking about this, there is a constant fear of stepping into the working world... I would say going through internship is like a interude to working & I must say though it was a nice experience, I doubt I can last long...

There is this pressure of expectation for result from the higher-ups which is expected but in the field of engineering is hard cos it can be unpredictable... And if you can't meet that expectation, guess it's out of the job, huh?

Sigh, that unknown is what I fear should I start working. For now, need to find job first before I can even fear that fear... 

Moving on, let's talk about my art projects...

Currently, I'm working on a small crossover between fate series and love live. All pairs are already done; you can see from #fatexlovelive in Instagram.

1. HonoUmi; Honoka as Master, Umi as Servant Archer
2. ChikaRiko; Chika as Master, Riko as Servant Saber
3. NozoEli; Nozomi as Master, Eli as Servant Lancer
4. KanaMari; Kanan as Master, Mari as Servant Rider
5. NicoMaki; Nico as Master, Maki as Servant Assassin
6. Youshiko; You as Master, Yosh-Yohane as Servant Caster
7. PanaRin; Hanayo as Master, Rin as Servant Berserker
8. RubyMaru; Ruby as Master, Hanamaru as Servant Alter-ego

^RubyMaru pair is a special one; Hanamaru was meant to be the polar opposite of Rin yet also similar(given how the anime had protrayed:)

I am still thinking of how to fit in Dia and Kotori(high chance of Dia as Ruler and Kotori as a passer-by that got caught into all these; much like Sieg in Apocrypha)

Besides this, for the random doodles x love live, I will either put on hold or just halt the project & upload whatever I had done so far- lost my motivation I had before(that's what you get for putting the project off for a long time...)

I think that should be all the current art projects I have at hand... Hopefully, I can finish fatexlovelive before school starts- Don't think I want to put another project on hold again...(And maybe start a new series or continue some existing ideas...o.o)

Oh and I'm currently debating whether to drawing bday fanarts for all LL babies...

Maybe cos LLSS s2 ended a few days ago, I feel a slight disconnection with LL series... Though a movie is confirmed, there is this... empty feel(and I've been holding off, watching the last ep with subs; can't bear for it to end but...) It was a 'nice' end of year present from LL...

People always say, draw what you want to draw and not draw for the sake of drawing- guess it's never good to 'force' myself over drawing, haha^^;

Lastly, today is the release of my result from last semester- nothing fantastic; average pass and guess after 3.5 years of studies, more or less expected the outcome... Tbh, I was a little worried for a particular module cos I did badly for the exam but instead, surprisingly, it was another module that I did bad(and the one I was worried wasn't too bad)
What's done is done and now onto my final semester of my uni education!

[Update] Busy school term... Hiatus?

It's been a looooong while.

School had been hectic since day 1 and guess that is to be expected from Final Year...?

And maybe cos I was on internship last semester; coming back to school after like...8 months and studying seems kinda foreign to me like switching over from working to studying mode.

I must say the switching over was a hard to adapt from the first few weeks; I struggle to get my momentum back, esp in cutting down my freedom to draw- it felt unnatural, considering how I did not have much work to do over the weekends and was able to draw during my internship but the same cannot be said of studying(with projects, presentation, assignment, tutorials coming at you week by week...)

Right now, drawing is like a luxury and a form of de-stress for me, especially when the work loads can get overwhelming which happened in the first few weeks; there was quiz and presentation at the start plus working on my fyp which I had no idea how to, after looking through the code numerous times...

Something to mention, the one thing I hate and also fear the most in school is presentation... Whenever there is presentation, I can malfunction for the week and only focus on the presentation when I know I have other commitment to do...
And during presentation, should I mess up, my brain starts to blank out and my vision may start twirling...
This is how bad I am with presentation or rather I am just bad with talking, with myself as the center of attention, esp to unknown people...

Negative thoughts will start to invade my mind before I even present and during presentation, if I see disapproving looks, my self-esteem can go way down to negative...

I know you can't run away from presentation in University and that after doing quite an amount of presentations over the years, I should have resolved myself in doing presentations. However, actions always speak louder than words...
There is just this barrier I can't overcome in stopping myself from being nervous in presenting myself in front of an audience... Nervousness normally got me screwing up...

Well, that's me and my weakness which I'm sure is gonna haunt me over the years but hopefully, one day, I can be better and overcome it.

That said, considering my busy school term, I'm putting this blog to hiatus...

And apologies to the last part of the jap post- think I will get it out after my school or something(haha^^;)

Small note: while my blog may be hiatus, I'm still pretty active on twitter and instagram:)

As for my art, I like to apologise again to the September LL babies for the super late work and I blame much on my school work load(priorities, priorities~) All 3 works are already uploaded with the exception of scanned Ruby work yet to be done- getting it out tmr(pls look forward to it~)
After that, I will compile and upload onto pixiv:)

In addition, I started a small crossover between Fate series and Love Live with the LL members divided into servant-master pairings. Think I mentioned a few posts back...?
Currently, all pairings are decided but design wise; left PanaRin and RubyMaru to finalise. I'm still debating whether to add one or two more servant for Dia & Kotori whom don't have a pair or just as a passer-bys...(Could just put RubyMaruDia together and HonoUmi with Kotori...?)

^For now, this is the current progress and likely to continue after school term(and not to forget random LL doodles series which I think I lost my inspiration for it^^;)

Lastly, I'm joining Inktober but not everyday(doubt I got the time...) so occasionally, I will doodle some ink works and upload onto twitter & instagram!
